It's really such a sad thing to see. We were actually planning on heading over there this year, but I guess we'll have to scratch it out for a long time. From what I heard, the woman died in the fire because she refused to leave her cabin even if she was already being told by the firefighters to do so. I gotta admit, I love camping and being outdoors a whole lot, but staying in what is supposed to be a cabin that she really loved with all the fire blazing around is just so not worth it.
I have to agree that in a way, it's a great relief that the fire was caused by lightning instead of a camper. If it was caused by a camper, I could probably wring his/her neck. |
