Exhaust Brake Question
Every time that I use the exhaust brake on my MH, the gear indicator readout goes from 6 to 2. Is this normal? Our class A has an Allison 6-speed transmission with a 400 HP Cat C-9.

Re: Exhaust Brake Question
From what I know, Allison transmissions are programmed depending on your chassis marker's request. 2 is the pre-select gear. That's so that it won't over-rev the engine.

Re: Exhaust Brake Question
Sounds pretty normal to me. We also got an Allison in our motorhome. The left number's read out goes to 2 when we slow down while the right indicator slowly goes down from 6 to 5 to 4 and so on.

Re: Exhaust Brake Question
Checked it with my friend who's got the same class A as you do and he told me that it's just normal for it to do that and you have nothing to worry about.
