Drier lint that we put a bit of petroleum jelly on it and our trusty zippo lighter.

My daughter told me about a twist on the drier lint deal, take your toilet paper rolls & stuff them with the lint. Haven't tried it yet, but I will in the spring.

Yes, this works great. We pinch off a bit of the toilet paper roll so that it's easier for it to catch the flame.

I stuffed drier lint into cardboard egg cartons and poured melted candle wax over it. The individual pieces can be broken off to use. They light easily and burn long enough to be very effective at starting a fire.
