Is it really cheaper to live off your RV?
My parents have been contemplating on selling off their home and living in their Motorhome, saying that it is much cheaper. Although I love camping in my Motorhome, I have to admit that the expenses that go to it makes me wonder if my parents are really going to save more if they live in an RV instead of living in their home.

What do you think?

1. NO taxes
2.. Unless you're paying by the month, theres no electric bill
3. If it gets to cold where you are, move
4. If you are set up for boondocking & enjoy it, you can usually find free places to stay.
5. generally no HOA's, just abide by the CG rules

I would do it, but my wife is against selling the stick & brick, she wants somewhere to come back to.

bukhrn has got a point. Then again, it also depends on the camping style of your parents.

I agree! Living in an RV may be cheaper in the long run, provided that your parents are willing to go basic. But if they are thinking about living in one of those exclusive resorts, there might not be any different from living in a brick-and-mortar home

Not quite. It really depends on which state you're staying. Some states may not require you to pay state taxes, but will still require you to pay federal taxes. Others will require you to pay a lower state tax rate.
