It has come to the attention of campingroadtrip.com that a thief has stolen camping equipment from a Boy Scout Troop in San Antonio, TX. In response, the Troop has been spending their weekend selling tacos for donations. They are in need of additional donations.
If you would like to help Boy Scout Troop 701 you can email Mark Sharp, Scoutmaster, at rmsharp@me.com for additional information, or send checks made out to "BSA Troop 701" and mail it to Oak Hills Church:

Below is a letter from Scoutmaster Mark Sharp.
Thank you for your interest in Boy Scout Troop 701, which is chartered by Oak Hills Church. We are in the Summit District and the Alamo Area Council. We currently have about 30 active boys in our troop. Although we lost almost all of our equipment when our trailer was stolen, we have scheduled for the next two camp outs to be "wilderness survival" training events which need minimal equipment. Hopefully, within a couple of months we will have replaced enough equipment to go on more typical camp outs.
Including the trailer, we lost about $9,800 in equipment. After learning of the loss, the scouts, with the generous support from the owner of the Scenic Loop Cafe, planned and carried out two fund raisers on March 6th and 13th in which they prepared and handed out breakfast tacos and collected donations. Thanks to the generosity of people, we have received $2,165 thus far.
Thus, we are in the process of rebuilding. We have arranged to insure any new equipment so that the troop is more protected from catastrophic events.
We are grateful for your interest in supporting our wonderful scouts. Our scouts provide hundreds of hours of service to their community each year and it is fitting that we support them when they are in need.
Yours in Scouting, Mark Sharp
