Here is a recipe that I came up with years ago! It is sort of a rub and seasoning. I use it on most things I grill or smoke and BBQ. I call it: CHUCKWAGON RANGE RUB.
2 Tbs. Bacon fat 1 Medium onion, chopped 1 Clove of garlic, minced 14 oz. Ketchup 1/2 cup Worcesteshire sauce 1/4 cup Brown sugar 1/4 cup water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce, Or more if you like some heat! 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
Melt the bacon fat in a medium pot or pan. Add the onions and garlic and saute for 5 minutes over medium high heat. Blend in the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 15 minutes on medium low heat and stir every 5 minutes. Take off the heat and let cool. Then I pour it into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator. Then just melt some in a small pot or pan when wanted. Just brush some on before grilling, smoking or BBQ. We have used it on almost everything from veggies to seafood like grilled lobster and shrimp, burgers, hot dogs, ribs and steaks! |
