The site we stayed on was extremely small. It was a chore to get our camper positioned on the site. The staff were friendly. We used the shuttle for transportation to and from a concert. Well worth the price. Bathrooms were very clean. Even the porta potty was kept extremely clean considering the amount of people were there. The beach was tiny. The view of the lake from our site was awesome. Good bloody mary's at the bar located in campground. Not family friendly. Would only return if we were to attend another concert up that way. Did not like that for some concerts they only allow tent camping.

The hiking here is really the star. The sites are all very close together and there was only one electrical box for four sites. The bathrooms were alright. It was peaceful. Not too much for the kids to do. We would try another campground in the area before we stayed here again.

| Horrible lady at the front desk | We stayed here more than once and the first couple of times were not too bad, if you don't mind the constant noise from the expressway. We returned because it is a clean park and the pool is well kept. The last time we were there will be our last time though. The lady working up front is a tyrant. I can appreciate wanting to keep the park up to certain standards but this lady was out of control. We had to switch the date of our original reservation by a week. I called to change it 5 days before instead of the 7 days that I was supposed to call by and I thought I would have to kneel in front of her and beg forgiveness!! I was repeatedly reminded that I was not calling in 7 days before so technically she could charge me for my original reservation along with the new dates. And was told that if I called to change again I would be charged. I thanked her and promised that we would be there. I thought that was the end of it; unfortunately, I was wrong. When we arrived and checked in she was all over us. "Oh you're the people who changed your reservation. Yeah I wouldn't have done it again for you. Like I said it wasn't 7 days" REALLY?!? She went as far as to drive down to the people's site next to ours and pour a pitcher of water on their fire. REALLY?!? We will not be returning to Hickory Hollow.

There are no assigned sites, but we did have someone guide us and offer us our choice of different sites. The "guide" did help us out after we started to set up and discovered the electric box assigned to our site fixed right then and there. Worked all weekend after that. There is no quiet time here. There was a "frat" party (what my husband called it) that went on both nights until the wee hours of the morning. No one came to stop it. Bathrooms were not close to our site. They offered port-a-potties back by us but they were awful. There was just nastiness all over the inside. We will check out what else is available before we would return.

| Big campground, friendly staff | There are no assigned campsites. The crowd got a little rambunctious Saturday night. Well, it was one group of young kids that got out of hand. Security came around and settled them down. Other than that, bathrooms and showers were very clean. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had. The price of the firewood they sold there was extremely reasonable. The site we stayed on was on kind of a bluff that overlooked the river. It was a challenge to get to the site since there was a big rock half buried in the road but our vehicle made it over no problem. There are plenty of other sites available for the not so brave. Nice spacious lots though where we camped so worth the trek. Swimming pool (more like a swimming hole) was not wonderful. Would return. Would not bring our kids though. I don't feel it's too family friendly
